Because many folks are used to giving 'gifts of substance', it is often difficult for these folks to give 'e-gifts' or as they say, 'just a bunch of files for the computer'. We suggest that our customers buy whatever package they wish from OLIN for gift-giving. Then "burn" the downloaded e-book file(s) from OLIN to a C/D or DVD disk. Then all they need to do is to gift-wrap the disk as fancy as they like and to then give it as they would any other 'gift of substance'!

Some of our regular customers have even gotten really fancy and have begun to download copies of the corresponding e-bookcovers and other graphics. Then they made a nice gift presentation with OLIN'S professional and fancy artwork-clipart in at least three (3) different ways (we're sure there is many more ways still left to be discovered). One, as a custom tag for the wrapped disk. Two, print custom gift-wrapping paper for the disk (this doesn't take much paper at all). Or three, they carefully print on the thin tissue type of paper that is used for inner wrapping. This way the gift-receiver sees the fancy custom tissue inner wrapping with professional artwork and then the disk. After all, most people do judge a book by it's cover!

Lastly, many newer DVD 'burners' will also come with 'Lightscribe' technology. Lightscribing burns/puts a three-dimensional (3-D) graphic onto the disk for a fancy and professional store-brought look! Just about any graphic can loaded into the lightscribe software and then burned onto the disk, including copies of OLIN'S e-bookcovers and other graphics! Now ask around your neighborhood for the stores that offer these very same services, for those of you who don't have the technology or the time to do so. Many 'post-it' or 'mail-it' type of stores offer these services, and usually for only a few dollars. Also don't over-look and forget to ask relatives and friends if they can assist you with lightscribing because it really is becoming very common on most newer computer systems and just maybe one of your friends have purchased a new system with the lightscribe DVD. All this time and effort will truly make all the difference when giving e-product as gifts. In situations where other's will also be giving 'gifts of substance' such as birthday parties and so on, yours will steal the show' among all in attendance! Trust us, we have seen this response first hand. Don't ever be afraid to be creative and to try different methods of giving OLIN e-products.

We wish to report that some of our regular customers have claimed that they have figured out how to turn 'e-products' into 'print-on-demand' (POD) products, especially for gift-giving situations. Whereas our e-products aren't exactly what is meant by the professionals who use the term 'print-on-demand'; our customer's inform us that our e-products can still can be referred to as 'print-on-demand' in the following way. Our regular customers detailed the process for us. 'We 'burn' the CD as above after buying our OLIN 'e-product'. We then decorate and gift-wrap the disk', (with or with-out 'lightscribe' or OLIN clip-art). They continue, 'we next print out the first three chapters or so of our OLIN e-book and then hand-bind these printed chapters together (with room for more chapters later) and give the hand-binded chapters along with the gift-wraped CD disk'! All they suggest to you to do if you use their idea, is to include a small note and instructions on how-to 'print-on-demand' the remaining chapters as needed once they are done with the first three.

Now we must confess we didn't come up with this very clever application on our own, however, we must admit it is a very good idea and will in turn assist many folks who feel odd giving e-products as gifts. This way your gift is really no different then a usual 'gift of substance'; on the other hand many would say it will mean much more and also gives it that warm personal touch that is so needed in this 'electronic age'. There are many built-in features and benefits with OLIN e-books that either cost much more or aren't even available in 'print-books' at any cost! It has become an industry standard to charge up to and as much as 35% more than cover-price for 'large print' editions. With OLIN e-books, the PDF file format versions, the reader can at a click of the mouse, enlarge the print and page to as much as 6400% of normal 8 1/2" by 11." page size! That means that every letter of a single word would fill the entire screen at a time! Don't expect anyone that you give an e-book to, will ever want to increase the type that much. Lastly on size, OLIN PDF file format e-books not only can increase the size of print and page but can also decrease the print or page size to as low as 10% of 'normal-size'! This is not an option for any cost with print-books.

The option of having their OLIN e-book read to them by a 'odd' but understandable electronic voice!
